What a ChefWaala lead looks like

Not a name and an email. A brief: occasion, headcount, date, town, dietary requirements and, where the customer will say, a budget — because a lead without a number wastes your time as much as theirs. Customers reach us through seventy-odd pages covering towns and occasions across the state, so the intent is usually specific by the time it arrives.

Leads are matched, not blasted. A brief goes to partners who cook that cuisine and cover that town, so you are not quoting a wedding in Bergen County from a kitchen in Cherry Hill.

What we ask of partners

That you quote quickly — the promise on the customer side is an itemised price within 60 minutes between 9am and 9pm, and it only holds if partners answer. That you cook what you say you cook. And that you turn up: the fastest way out of the network is a customer left waiting.

Food safety paperwork, insurance and the usual licensing are checked before anything is passed to you. It protects the customer and, frankly, it protects the other partners.

Who this suits

Indian restaurants with kitchen capacity in the quiet hours, catering businesses that want fuller weekends, and specialist kitchens — Gujarati, South Indian, Bengali, Jain, halal — that customers ask for by name and struggle to find.

Our founding kitchen partner is Tamarind & Co., an Indian restaurant that cooks ChefWaala events alongside its own dining room and tandoor service — the clearest picture of what a kitchen in this network actually does. How that partnership works is written up in full.

It also suits kitchens who would rather cook than sell. The enquiry, the follow-up and the chasing are ours; the food is yours. To be straight about the model: customers pay us nothing, and the network is funded by the partners who take the work — how exactly, we are still working out, and we will agree it with you before anything is charged.

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost to join?

Nothing to apply, and nothing to talk to us. We are still setting how partners pay for briefs — per lead, a flat fee or a share of booked work are all on the table — and we would rather tell you that plainly than quote you a number we might change. Early partners help us settle it, and nothing is charged until it is agreed with you in writing.

How many leads will I get?

It depends on your cuisine, your coverage and how quickly you quote. We would rather set that expectation on a call than print a number here that suits nobody.

Do I have to take every lead?

No. Take the ones that fit your kitchen and your calendar. Consistently ignoring briefs simply means you see fewer of them.

What areas do you cover?

All of New Jersey, with the heaviest volume in Middlesex, Somerset, Morris, Hudson and Mercer counties.
